Art Fix 09

Art Auction & Party At Third Degree Glass Factory November 21st 2009

Art Fix Artists

The following artists (alphabetical by first name) have contributed their time and talent to the event, by making their work available during the silent auction. All money raised by the auction will go directly to Rebuilding Together – St. Louis.

Ashely Kopp

mixed media

Ashley Kopp combines a unique blend of photography with drawing and painting. Her work is intertwined with experiences and places that create personal memories. The relationship between mapping and personal experience conceptually links the form and content in her work. Many images she uses are photographs of landmarks that evoke a specific memory. She layers abstract photographs of those places with representational images to create a canvas for painting and drawing. The results create an abstract piece for the viewer to discover their own interpretations.

Ashley is a native from St. Louis and received her BFA from Webster University. While at Webster she was awarded the John Hilgert Memorial Award. She continues to pursue her artistic endeavors throughout St. Louis.

Gregory

Photography

For over 11 years I have been working as a Web and Graphic Designer, from my early days at a small advertising agency to presently at a large global corporation. Being in the creative world daily, it was only a matter of time before I would transition into digital photography. For the past 8 years I’ve been shooting digital photography as mainly a fun creative outlet. I started taking photographs of St. Louis architecture, St. Louis monuments, and various St. Louis nature settings  throughout the Saint Louis metropolitan area. After going on a photo shoot, I would enhance my pictures using various digital techniques, creating a limited edition set of pictures for family and friends.

Jeff Kapfer

painting

Jeff Kapfer’s bird paintings are inspired by friends, family, and life experiences. His paintings take on their own personality through composition, line quality, and color.

He attended Webster University and received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with an emphasis in Graphic Design. There, he began to do small sketches colored in with gauche. These evolved into larger acrylic paintings on canvas.

Jeff has shown his work throughout the St. Louis area including Houska Gallery, Metropolitan Square, and Marbles Gallery. He has also participated in Wall Ball, Let Them Eat Art, and the Contemporary Art Museum’s Open Studios Weekend.

He hopes to expand his audience in St. Louis and also show in different cities.
